Re: Denim x 2

Even though denim has had a gradual revival, the past couple of months I’ve been seeing a lot of denim inspired outfits beyond the runways. Here are two outfits inspired by the denim trend I came up with you can wear for work or a nice day out in the city!

By the way you guys, I didn’t wear makeup today so I was trying to hide my dark circles with my sunglasses 😛

For my first look, I wanted to give the modern boss babe a retro vibe. I am wearing a denim skirt from Levi’s paired with a soft pink shirt to brighten up this look, nude heels from Cynthia Rowley and a tuxedo black & white pattern blazer to add a little bit of an edge.IMG_7715.jpgFor my second look, I went with my slightly wrinkled denim shirtdress paired with my Wilfred jacket and peach oxford shoes from Forever 21. The sunglasses helps put the whole look together for a nice day out in the city or meeting some friends after work. You can make this look more casual by switching jacket for a cardigan or a leather jacket if you need something that’ll keep you warmer. Also, you can definitely use your sneakers instead of these oxfords, especially if you’re planning on running around to do some errands.

As a takeaway, you can use denim shirts, skirts, dresses and of course, pants in many different ways. For these outfits, I used denim similar to how I would use a neutral color but you can definitely mix it up depending on your personal style. I do have to stress that maybe we don’t need a repeat of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s denim invasion. I’m just putting it out there, but I think Katy Perry might disagree with me on this 😉
